Grand Cru Zeste Cantilever Brakeset

Cantis at their best

I now have 3 bikes with Zeste cantilever brakes, the oldest is from 2012 and is still working great after thousands of miles on numerous extended tours. Light weight and powerful enough for fully loaded touring in the mountains with plenty of adjustments so set-up and maintenance is easy. I have other brands of cantis which are lighter or have slightly better stopping power but they come with drawbacks. These are the best all around cantis, period, especially for the very reasonable price.

Fantastic Canti Brakes!

The set-up is a little more complicated than some, but it’s honestly an advantage; with a little patience, you can get the pad height, contact angle, and toe-in perfectly adjusted. The barrel adjuster on the crossover cable is brilliant. Once dialed in, these brakes work great, with excellent stopping power and modulation. I swapped the pads for a different brand and compound, and am very happy — they’re silent, powerful, and great looking. So cool to have more choices in canti brakes!

Grand Cru Cantina

They stop and don’t whenever I want. Their unique style is an eye-catcher which was the biggest appeal to me. Even though it took a lot of tools to put it together, it seems easy enough to adjust. Thanks VO
