Unexpected large customs cost

Very happy with the knife itself, however two weeks after receiving it I had a letter from DHL requesting £60 for customs clearance. This was not made very clear at all when purchasing, and if I would have been made aware of this before confirming the order then I would’ve thought twice before purchasing.
