Arcus Musing L4 Viola Bow

Wonderful bow, shop is a delight to work with!

Wonderful bow. The L series Musing bows are really a step above, maybe even a breakthrough in carbon fiber bows. I'd been reading and researching composite bows for a few years, after using a Coda Classic for the last 20 years for all my summer out-door and "hazardous" gigs (kids, bars, wedding receptions, etc). This was the best purchase of the last few years and I wish I'd done it sooner! When I pull it out and start playing I grin and glance around to see if anyone else notices... it almost feels like cheating, it sounds so much better. I do a lot of recording and took it to the studio when I was trialing the bows (Jim was great in recommending bows to compare and getting them sent over quickly!) and the L4 has a very clear lift in the 1khz+ range. I could hear the difference under my ear right away (it sounds like the stick itself is resonating brightly) but wasn't sure if it would carry, but it does! It's a joy to play. And with the home trial that the shop offers you're doing yourself a disservice by not checking it out!
