Disappointing Hold Under Load, the Plastic Brakes Don’t Grip

I bought the casters assuming they would be properly rated to handle the full weight and stability needed for a loaded desk, but they fall far short of being "heavy-duty." As soon as there is a decent amount of weight on the desk, the casters easily slip and shift around. The main culprit seems to be the brake mechanism. Feels cheap plastic that simply lacks the necessary friction and bite to lock the wheels firmly in place. By comparison, inexpensive metal casters I’ve bought off Amazon for other workshop projects have better braking force and actually hold fast under heavy loads.
