I am SO grateful to Wes for making this part available for these old Kenmore machines. I found a 1227 at the thrift store in pretty bad shape and thanks to this part, was able to restore it to full functionality with zig zag and all! I’m so happy!

I just had the pleasure of installing one of Wes's work of art and science. I purchased a beautiful 158.12271, you guessed it, broken zigzag gear. The gear/cam went in very smoothly (with expert advice from Wes, the Kenmore community, and Henry Bangsberg's YT video) and runs like it's 1978! Absolutely no binding, the cam rides smooth. Thank you Wes for all your work!!!
