WiiM Amp Ultra

A Nice Little Streamer/Amp Combo w/One Problem

I really like this little streamer/amp combo. My only criticism is with its WiFi handling. I think the internal antenna is a bit weak as I have other devices in the same room that get strong 5GHz connections, but the WiiM struggles to get a good 5GHz signal. Unfortunately, it doesn't always automatically switch over to 2.4GHz when the 5GHz signal is weak, even though I have the "5 GHz Only" option in Network Status toggled off. I have to manually reboot the WiiM each time it locks on to a weak 5GHz signal and hope it will pick up on the stronger 2.4GHz signal when it starts back up since my router does not allow for assigning separate 5 and 2.4GHz SSIDs. I've also noticed that it tends to toggle on the "5 GHz Only" option by itself during some reboots which is annoying. Hopefully these issues can be addressed with future firmware updates. Other than that, I'm enjoying the WiiM Amp Ultra and think it sounds great in my bedroom system.

Decent Streamer, Ok Amp

I like the features, very nice streamer and good app interface. A few things hoping that it may be improved: 1. add Apple AirPlay; 2. Sound stage seems wide but lack precise image; 3. Warmer sounds would be better (sounds a little thin). About what I like most of the streamer amp: 1. decent room correction (my room is a mess); 2. awesome crossover for my main speakers and subwoofer, integrating them beautifully. For the price, I shouldn't complain much.

I love the amplifier and have a feeling of quality....heavy.
