Topcoat muted the polish

At first, this looked promising, a cool gray base that shifted to a dusty olive in different light. The magnetic effect shifted from red to orange. While the magnetic effect was not the strongest, it was still nice. Then I applied topcoat and the polish immediately became muddy. I tried a different topcoat on my other hand and though the dulling was not as prominent, it was still present. It's a weird thing that's never happened before and no one else leaving reviews had this issue.
