Definitely an upgrade. I think the rechargeable remote should be standard with the helmet because the battery operated one was a pain; frequently needed new battery and the disassembly was difficult. I strongly recommend buying the rechargeable.

Excellent Remote & Helmet Quality

I initially had an issue with the first signal remote that was sent with my Lumos helmet. However, the company quickly followed up and sent me a much better-quality handlebar remote that also works seamlessly with the app. I’m now very pleased with the setup. I love the helmet, the build quality, and the improved remote. Everything feels sturdy, reliable, and thoughtfully designed. I would definitely recommend the Lumos helmet and remote to anyone looking for added safety and convenience while riding. M Mckay
