5 stars for the printing, 3.75 for the story. If I were to rate The House on the Borderlands from the perspective of when it was published, I'd have to bump it up a star. For modern times, there are some things that aged well and aged poorly. I'd say the story itself is borderline great only because of [redacted paragraph for spoilers].
