I am the definition of pair-shaped, dress shirts have been a complicated relationship for me since puberty. The construction of these shirts have hit me like meeting a genuinely nice person after a lifetime of crummy partners. I know it sounds dramatic over clothing but unironically life changing. IT FITS PERFECTLY. No clinging or hip hugging, no boob gap at the buttons, the side gussets are everything! The material is light, soft, and breathable with a great balance of stretch and stability for a comfortable fit and flattering look. And the print itself is SO beautiful and clean even after multiple washes.

First of all, I am a big texture person when it comes to my clothes. This shirt is soooo soft and cozy I know I’ll never have a problem wearing it no matter how bad my sensory issues are. I’ve been wanting to get something from Maya Kern for years but I’m not much of a skirt person anymore, so I was thrilled when the shirts started coming out. I got both the hiss latte and the ocean shirt, one in large and one in medium, because I’m usually in between the sizes. If you’re in between like myself, I recommend going for the larger one. The medium does still fit, so I don’t need to exchange it - most people would say it fits better - but I prefer looser clothing most days, so keep that in mind if you’re ordering for yourself. I will say that the quality of the shirt is fantastic. The fabric is sturdy and the seams are solid. It feels like a thrift store find that could be anywhere between 20 and 100 years old because it’s simply that well made. It’s more than I’ve spent on clothes in a long time but it’s 100% worth it. I’m so glad to have quality craftsmanship in my closet again. Thank you, Maya and the rest of the crew, for sticking to your principles and providing a place to find cruelty free clothing that is worth every single penny. Thank you.

Soft & well-fitting

As usual, Maya Kern and co knock it out of the park! This is officially one of the most comfortable button ups I've ever had, it's gorgeous, and it fits my pear-like figure very well. I can't wait for warmer weather so I can wear it without layering!
