Shield works well, but the Hornet peak will cause shading and inconsistent darkening.

I do like the shield, it keeps my face cooler and less sunburn. After use, I do see why Shoei quit selling the transition shiels for the Hornet x2. The peak visor does shade and you will get some inconsistent darkening as a result. It takes some getting use to it. I am sure it would be perfect without the peak. I will still run with both. It takes about 40 seconds to fully adjust if you have had the shield up and shaded, then close it.

When one rides into the sunset, then the sun goes down, it's helpful to continue to see!!! Works like a charm!! Dark when ya need protection from the sun, and clear when the sun goes down! And doesn't shift to dark when it gets cold like my glasses do!
