I didn't know that you changed the design of the top and still wondering if the larger amount opening vs. the single hole of my (older) design will affect the ability of the carafe to keep the coffee hot. The open/close feature doesn't actually close all the way which is curious if you will to maximize the ability to keep liquids hot. Curious.

love it! I have broken two with the old style lid and this one looks like it can withstand the times I drop it!
