DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY THIS FISH PLEASE
This loach is extremely beautiful. LET IT BE KNOWN THAT THIS FISH IS NOT FOR THE AMATEUR AQUARIST. IT NEEDS A VERY SPECIFIC ENVIRONMENT TO SURVIVE. THESE ARE NOT SUGGESTIONS: IT NEEDS A POWERHEAD TO INCREASE WATER FLOW INCREDIBLY, ALSO IT NEEDS NATURALLY OCCURRING ALGAE AND BIOFILM TO SURVIVE. If they are fed any meat products it should be maybe once a week because they're digestive system cannot handle it and it will stop up and they will die. You need to have a separate tank to grow algae fast with very very high light, and you need to rotate smooth river type rocks between that tank and the tank the loaches are in. These fish are all wild caught in Borneo, the third biggest island in the world and the most diverse ecosystem. The people harvesting them are people that live there or people that go there to make money off of doing this. Their techniques ruin their habitat. Most of these loaches were discovered round about 2 years ago and if things keep up the way that they are they will be near extinct in a wild within 10 years. Think about the Galaxy sulawesi shrimp. Extinct in the wild because of what we did. Only took a couple of years. I didn't know any of The wild caught stuff until after I bought the fish and researched it. As much as I love them I won't be buying any others unless they are TANK BRED. TANK BRED IS THE WAY TO GO! But please make sure you have a special tank to accommodate these river fish. GoBy's and other loaches also make a great addition as they are riverfish as well and fun as heck to watch too. Research before you buy PLEASE
