Falling Axe

A beautifully Built American Axe

I suppose it's a little crazy for me to purchase an item like this for home owner use only but I wanted a dedicated falling /wedge driving axe and this was so beautiful I just had to get it. I haven't used it yet, big surprise but look forward to the fall and winter when it will get some use. If your onthe fence, this axe is very well made and being made here in the US is just icing on the cake.

Head weight plus handle length/shape are a perfect combination

The head weight plus handle length/shape are a perfect combination. I use mine with my hydraulic wood splitter to cut and break apart hickory logs that insist on giving me a hard way to go. In addition, a have used as a wood picker to load my splitter gate. The axe blade shape/weight and handle ball end are a combine to work as a replacement picker.

Best Wedge Banger Out There

Wow! This axe feels great in the hand for driving wedges. The machining and finish look incredible and the Westcoast Saw handle feels like it does the head justice! Excellent work by Marvin at Borntrager and Gordy for bringing it to a wider market. I usually use an axe with a 28” handle so I’m not sure how much I’ll like the 26” in the long run or if I’ll switch it out to a slightly longer handle!
