Carnforth: Barefoot Chukka Boot – Wide Toe Box

I love the Carnforth. But like my Bramfords, I replaced the insole with a minimal insert from NorthSole that is meant for barefoot style shoes. I find Birchbury insoles to have too much structure around the arch and a hint of heel elevation that I don’t want (that second part could be all in my head). I am also considering swapping out the elastic laces for conventional laces, like I also did with my Bramfords. I like a closer fit, even with my high volume feet. But really though aside from those quibbles, these shoes a very nice. The leather is soft and high quality. The look is attractive and can be dressed up or down. I receive compliments and questions every time I wear them. Happy customer!

A great fitting wide-toe box slip on shoe. Pairs well with jeans or slacks. Very comfortable to walk in with the zero drop and general all day wearing. I am very happy with this style of shoe and would recommend. Thanks!

Great looking boot, easy to slip on, with a comfortable toe box. They don't offer much in the way of arch support, which makes them a bit uncomfortable after a long day. Questionable durability, the leather is starting to show wear and tear after a week of use. At this price point I expected better build quality and all day comfort.
