Fendrihan Mk II Full Stainless Steel Double Edge Safety Razor

Well made, but too aggressive

I was looking for a solid stainless steel razor that wouldn't break the bank. the Fendrihan certainly delivered on this score. I know enough to recognize the skill and care required to mill this razor from stainless steel, and I'm impressed at what Fendrihan delivers at this price point. I just wish the shaving experience was more pleasant. The Fendrihan is set up too aggressive for me as compared to the Merkurs and Edwin Jaggers I've used. Those are more beginner-friendly, but I wish the Fendrihan's geometry was just a little easier to use.

Great Goldilocks Razor!

I've been wet shaving now for about ten years and have owned at least a couple dozen different safety razors. This razor shaves just right. I've tried a few different common favorite blades in it and all work just fine. To me, it's a mild, but very efficient razor that consistently gives a three pass, irritation and weeper free shave. I have gotten BBS shaves each and every time. I like it's heft and grip. The blade angle is very easy to find. The price is right, especially considering the material and workmanship. I don't have a single complaint about it, so five stars it gets!

I recently purchased the Fendrihan Mk II full stainless razor. The purchase (bought from Fendrihan, billed through Amazon) went very smoothly, and the razor arrived promptly. The handle is a thing of beauty. It is solid stainless, with a satin finish and cleanly cut knurling. It is definitely easy to grip when wet. I am by no means certain that the plate is stainless -- I'm pretty sure it's chromed base metal, which will affect its longevity. That's not a complaint, but it is something that the item description should make clear one way or the other. This is the first safety razor I have used in decades, so I am still at the low end of the learning curve. There have definitely been a few nicks, and I have not yet figured out how to shave the area just below my nose without slicing a nostril. It will be a long while before I can go back to shaving in the shower. But that's on me, not the razor. So: nice razor, beautiful handle, excellent purchase and delivery experience.
