Fancy duct tape

The good thing about this product is that it has the adhesive properties of duct tape. The drawback is that it looks like duct tape. I purchased this "leather repair" tape to patch a small tear in a car seat, and I'm quite disappointed in its appearance. While the color match is decent, the texture looks nothing like typical leather or vinyl upholstery, and when trimmed the white inner layer is very visible along the edges.

Did not fare well in my garaged car.

I have a leather cat seat that had started to split, so I cleaned the area with alcohol and applied some of the tape. After a month, it started leaving a residue around the edges that spread to nearby parts of the seat. I was able to remove it with no effort, because the adhesive had failed to hold—leaving additional residue that had to be removed.
