Was on the fence..glad I tried it. Have put this on breakfast sandwiches..rice dishes..love the heat on this one it's just right

Entomologist here... this is the real deal.

Blown away by how good this was. Finally... an insect-based condiment to stock my fridge with! As an entomologist and science communicator who promotes the sustainability of edible insects, I was worried that this was going to be just another novelty that makes up for lack of edibility with pretty cool branding and contribute to the stigma of eating insects. I'm so glad I was wrong (about the novelty factor, not the branding... the branding is still cool). It says Extreme Heat and they delivered, but beyond the heat, the explosion of flavors from the peppers, the mushroom, and the subtly sweet/tangy kick from the ants remained intact. It's a thinner sauce, as expected, so it looks like you might feel some crunchy ants, but you absolutely do not get any ant texture from them - which I know turns a lot of people away from eating insects. It was smooth, coated my chicken wings perfectly, and prompted me to write a review immediately, which I only do when I'm very happy or very upset. I can easily imagine putting this on anything. Can't wait to try all the others! My only wish is that it was easier to find more about Ant Sauce's sourcing (not for skeptical reason, but just out of entomological curiosity), and more history on why they chose the species they did. Great job Ant Sauce team!
