1.5" Crawdad "The Mountain Laurel Craw" 8 Per Pack

Tried these today at a very pressured pond, bluegill and panfish were smacking it but i was surprised i caught two white crappie! Very beautiful craws 🔥🔥🔥

I've been fishing with a 1.5" craw for about 40 years. Since before ultra lite was really popular. I have a favorite craw from "back then" that is no longer produced. The only "modern day" craw that I've found that came close to action, style, and sink rate, was made by Leland Lures. Their Trout Slayer. I was very excited to find the "Mountain Laurel Craw" made by Creek Life Lure Co. Same size and also pretty close to my original, with the exception that the claws are one piece, not two. I purchased three different colors, and have fished two colors so far. I caught fish on both. I love the slow sink rate, by the way, that's because the fish love the slow sink rate, and the variety of colors offered is good. The two colors I have used so far are the "Cured Hide" and "The Last Native" colors. "The Last Native" color worked well in clear water and believe it or not, the "Cured Hide" color worked better in slightly muddy water than "The Last Native" color did. It actually was more visible to me, and I guess to the fish as well. I experimented with jig heads and like the way the lure stands up on the correct jig head. The plastic is fairly durable, but not as durable as an "Elaztech" material. With the thin wired jig heads that I use, any type of plastic is going to cut fairly easily when struck by fish or during the fight. These lasted just as well as my originals, but have much better buoyancy. They stand up so nicely with the correct jig head, as mentioned before. These will definitely be used often and I will most certainly be getting more of these in the future! I also experimented with cutting of the round ball on the tail to make it a little shorter and more compact since the bluegill that I was catching were a bit smaller (3") than the normal average size gills (6" - 9") that I normally catch in the ponds that I fish in. While I didn't notice any BIG difference in my catch rate, it did work just as well. This is good info in that if you use it full size, when it gets a bit ripped up after a few fish, you can cut off the ball and re install the craw on your jig head with some fresh plastic!
