Great Cello, my mom has been telling me she has been getting complements for both the color and the sound. Todd and Evan were extra helpful during the process of buying the cello and always very responsive. I would recommend to anyone looking for a cello to buy this cello. Great buy

Returning to cello after 20 + years was a big decision for me and also a big investment. I shopped for a long time I tried a lot of instruments at local shops in Denver and Houston and I just could not find what I was looking for. I was able to play Romanian, German, American and chinese cellos all sounded very different and with prices that ranged from around 5000-10000 dollars. Cellos are so different but one resounding thing that I realized was that not all music shops really care if you find an instrument you enjoy. They play the rental game where they make money off of the interest. Some music shops also maybe dont have a cello player in the shop or a luthier who knows how to adjust a soundpost to get the most out of the instrument. All the instruments I tried in person at other shops were collecting dust some very out of tune and not set up well or with fresh strings. There was also no customer service! I felt like I knew more than the sales people in some cases which caused me to walk away every time. Stringworks on the other hand was a pleasure to work with I told them what I was looking for and what my budget was they sent me sound samples and made the decision very very easy. I never had to worry about setup. they use the highest quality professional strings and clearly care about what they are doing. The instrument I ordered arrived very quickly and in perfect condition. It was also still in tune. I have since brought my instrument to rehersals and shared it with friends and family. It makes me happy to say that I am not the only one happy with the instrument and it has definitely inspired me. I am really glad I decided to shop with string works!

Great Cello!

I have had my cello for over a year. The experience of buying it online was fantastic. Evan Lowery helped to match a cello that would fit the sound that I wanted. He was very personable, and I felt like he was a friend. That made the buying experience pleasant. He answered all my questions about the type of bow that would go well with the cello, the size of the cello compared to me, and any other questions big or small. He was very knowledgeable. There were two cellos that sounded a little bit different. I was impressed that he took the time to play the cellos, analyze the flavor of the sound, and ask me which one I thought I would like. The cello came to my house in great shape. It was beautiful! I love that sound of it. I wanted to wait awhile before reviewing the cello, because I am a new player. I have had it for a little over a year. It is easy to play compared with the one I was renting. It was much easier to play. It stays in tune, as a good instrument should. I believe if you like the sound of your instrument and it is comfortable to play, it will inspire you to practice often. That has been the case for me. After about a month or so, and because I am not knowledgeable about cellos and bows, I had a question about the bow. I received a prompt and knowledgeable reply. I have been very satisfied with the cello, the case and the bow and I would recommend String Works to anyone who is looking to buy an instrument.
