Le Picardie® Black Glass Tumbler - Set of 6

Going to hazard a guess that this review is for the small gloss black Picardie glasses. I very much like them as they are perfect for shot glasses if you have a snazzy bar or have gold accents around where you’d use these. They are perfect for tastings. I like mine for espresso as the crema really pops on top. The black coloring is in the glass so there is no worry for the color to rub off or scratch. I hope you are a fan of them as I am.

Well, this is tough, I bought both the small and large Picardie Gloss black tumblers. Unfortunately both labels for the review stop after “set of 6” so not sure which I’m reviewing. I shall go for the basics for both first. I am thrilled that they have added something new in the Picardie line and pleased they are available in the USA. Both small and large are a solid opaque gloss black. The color is in the glass so you don’t have to worry about the color rubbing or scratching off like it did when they had the matte black gouache spray on stuff about a decade ago. These are perfect for evening drinks or if you have gold cutlery. I got them thinking they’d be fun to have around Halloween. Now here’s the split. The small ones are just that they ARE small but perfect for tastings, use as a shot glass, I use mine for espresso. The crema looks stunning atop of the gloss black glass. The larger of the two sizes is the standard drinking glass size that one can easily find on this website or in person at Williams Sonoma or Sur La Table. Both wash up very nicely by hand or in the dishwasher. Thank you Duralex for having these stateside.

I love this black color, it’s very dark but also luminous as the glass is so shiny. Coffee looks beautiful in it and it’s just as fun for other beverages. Served my kid a glass of milk in this and it looked very cool.
