KastKing Megatron Titanium Telescopic Casting Rod

Haven't had a chance to use it yet, so I will reserve that last star until then, but out of the box this looks like an improvement on the Blackhawk II's design. The titanium tip isn't painted black like the rest of the blank, so it's more visible. The overall quality feels very premium too. Also, I'm not sure if this is mentioned anywhere in the description, but each section has a line marking on it to assist with lining up the guides, which is a very welcome Quality-of-Life improvement. The only (tiny) complaint I have so far is the position of the hook holder. I prefer it being above the reel seat, like on my Blackhawk II, but since this is for my baitcaster I can just hook it to the reel regardless. I have high hopes for this rod and will update once I've had a chance to use it. If it's as good as it looks, I will definitely be upgrading my spinning rod to this. Update: Got to fish with it finally. Felt great and handled fish well. A great product all around.

Really like the rod minus one thing…

So the rod is really nice. It is very aesthetically pleasing, cast very well, and the construction seems to be very well done. The one complaint I have is that the hook keeper is further down on the handle. Which is an issue for me because I fish out of a kayak most of the time and I can’t keep my lure on the keeper while it’s in the rod Holder. However, when I’m bank fishing I like the keep to be where it’s at on the rod. It would awesome if there were two hook keepers on the rod. All in all it’s an awesome rod. I highly recommend it. I’d love to see a bigger line up of power, action, and rod length in the future. A 7’3” Medium-heavy moderate-fast action rod would be amazing and I’d buy that in a heartbeat.
