Nahvalur Eclipse Cobalt Black Fountain Pen

Wonderful design, great nib, somewhat problematic

I bought the Eclipse at the New York Pen Expo, and was enjoying it very much. After a month or two I ran into some problems with the nib drying out overnight. The folks at Nahvalur were quick on the uptake and worked on the pen—they didn’t find any problems, but cleaned it out and returned it to me. Unfortunately they sent me a pen with a new problem, a real one, and once again they were obliging. They sent me a brand-new pen and a complimentary nib (medium—the fine proved to be a bit scratchy for my taste). I love the crazy design of the pen and it writes like a dream. In short:I had some problems with the Eclipse, but this company stands behind their products and proved to be generous and efficient. Recommended, with a. Caveat.
