Super easy installation
I purchased the dark PPF roof kit after watching the installation video (several times) and I must admit it went pretty smooth with professional results. A second person to help place it on the roof is a must as the film and width of my Model Y Juniper would have been challenging doing it alone. The key is to take your time, don't skimp on the slip solution, get the corners and center set first and the rest just falls into place. My vehicle looks much better with this tint on it as you don't have the transition lines of the roof factory-installed tint. I have sensitive eyes so this dark tint is perfect for me but some might find it a little too dark(my wife), as for the heat rejection I'm not sure how much it actually helps due to the unprecedented heatwave we've been experiencing in the northeast since the install.

Not a one man job.
I installed mine yesterday, it’s a high quality product. I love how it darkens the roof from the outside, the glass isn’t as dark as the my previous gen Model Y so it covers that weird space in the back that looks like they ran out of tint at the factory. I was able to get it perfectly aligned along the windshield, but had an issue getting it stretched to the back. I’m about a half inch off, also I feel like it would’ve helped if the squeegee was larger. This was my first time working alone with PPF this large so you definitely need a helper.

Model Y Roof Protection Kit (The "Real Talk" Version)
Finally found a space to get my roof protection installed—I managed to get access to the local fire department’s garage, which doubles as their gym and storage area. Definitely enough room to work, but I learned a few things along the way that I wanted to pass on to the group. The "Helper" Factor: Don't even try this solo. You absolutely need a helper for this one. The Install: I followed the instructions, but I have to say—it isn't as easy as the videos make it look! The stretching was the most difficult part for me; the material kept wanting to spring back before I could get it locked in place. Pro-Tip for the Group: On hindsight, I think the tack solution water should have been a higher temperature to help with the pliability. Not boiling, but through the bottle just tolerable. Also, I used the same aluminum bench you have, but let me tell you—between the constant up-and-down from the bench and the unforgiving concrete floor, it was a rough day for an old fart like me. Definitely worth doing, but clear your schedule, find a patient partner. Few air bubbles and slight misalignment.
