650 PCS 14g Yin Yang Design Poker Chips Set with Silver Aluminum Case

TLDR: I was a bit disappointed when I first got the set, but after some cleanup and a few games I’m happy with my purchase. If you’re ok with the design of the Monte Carlo’s, those are likely a better choice. I created a tournament set that seats 12 comfortably for Texas holdem with starter stacks of 12/12/5/6. 650pc, denominations of 25/100/500/1k/5k/10k in quantities of 150/150/125/125/75/25. I can use the set for 20 people with shorter starting stacks of 8/8/6/6. We’ve done games of 10 people and it’s plenty for rebuys (2x T500, 4x T1k, 1x T5k - make change at the table) and color ups as we move through the blind levels. If I were to do it again I’d get fewer T500s, shifting a barrel to the T100s or T1ks. I got these to upgrade the dotted/suited set I have. These have a good weight, and stack well. I like that the denominations are very clear, as well as the colors, and the edge design. They seem durable enough to withstand playing with the kids (8+) and nice enough the adults appreciate them too. I’m sure the stickers will start to peel in time, but I think we'll get plenty of use out of them in the mean time. The silver aluminum case it came with (650pc) is nice enough but I was concerned about the handle, didn’t feel like it’d stand up to the weight for long. Not a big deal, I was planning on using a different enclosure anyway. I would have bought the updated case if it was available. There was a ton of flashing on the chips when I unwrapped them. These bits of material left behind from the manufacturing process can mostly be cleaned off by wiping them down firmly with a microfiber cloth. Otherwise they’ll clean up as people handle them. Probably 10% of the set had the stickers off center to the point they were protruding from the recessed center “inlay” section. This is easily fixed by using a knife to peel up the protruding part of the sticker and re-placing it. Some of the chips came out of the manufacturing process with a rough face. The 5k chips are almost all slightly rough, the 25s and 100s were the worst, about 1/6th of those chips were quite rough. I tried sanding one down a bit, but that didn’t workout well. MRC customer service was great and replaced the rough chips and the misplaced sticker chips (I contacted them before attempting to re-place the sticker). It’s a good set. After playing half a dozen games or so, and switching back to dice chips for one game at a buddy’s house, I happy with my purchase.
