I have one of Richard's excellent Summer 'Ol Bobber', which I have used on dozens of rides (and I upgraded the armour with the latest D3O protection). When I saw the Gen2 'Ol Bobber', I knew it would also be excellent, and cover a different riding spectrum. And in the past couple of weeks I have put my new jacket through its paces on three long rides, across the temperature range. My conclusion is that the Gen2, with judicious use of liner, combinations of the eight air vents plus the wrist and waist studs, offers great flexibility - copes with very cold (6 degrees) weather up to cool/warm (24 degrees). The jacket looks understated, but pretty mean and 'cool'. And as it scuffs and fades and softens, its looks will improve. The liner is effective and yet thin enough not to feel bulky - and the liner's fitment design is simple and neat. But, above all, with its upgraded armour, strong leather and quilted sleeves, the Gen2 imparts a strong feeling of safety to the rider. I never want to have a spill, but I know what I would want to be wearing if I had an accident. Well done to Black Pup Moto.

Great jacket, fits well, measurement guides really helped

The jacket is awesome. Saw it was rated highly for safety in Motocap and figured since I didn’t have a leather jacket yet I would grab one. The leather is thick, the lining is comfortable and the quilted layer is a good bonus but I have yet to test it. The vents are great once you get moving, but like with most jackets it does get stuffy if you’re stopped. With all the armour and leather in the jacket I feel safe if I ever do go down. The fit itself is good. I’m a small guy and the small size fits a little loose around the arms, but I have found this to be a blessing on hot days as it lets the wind easily blow down the sleeves and cool me down. The shoulders are a little wide as well, but I find that the armour fills that space up nicely.
