ERGOclar is my new best friend

I just received my new ERGOclar a few days before an annual Chamber Music Retreat, and thought I'd give it a spin. It worked perfectly and it took no time at all to get use to it. Several other musicians noticed the device and had questions, some even took photos for their friends. Apparently, lots of clarinetists have a need to relieve the pressure of holding the clarinet from their thumb. One slight thing worth noting. I could not use my existing adjustable thumb rest with the eye bolt for a neck strap, because the eye bolt is horizontal, and the ERGOclar requires a vertical eye bolt. The ErgoClar come with an additional attaching ring with an Eye Bolt which works well, but it has to be removed when packing up the clarinet because it will not fit in my clarinet case. No biggie. At a recommendation of a friend, I purchased a Yamaha thumb rest with a vertical eye bolt for a neck strap. That makes it faster to add the ERGOclar, and my clarinet fits in the case now too. I really love this product and wish I had found it sooner.

Outstanding clarinet support system

I'm really enjoying this ErgoClar support stick. It's well-designed, and it takes the pressure off of my thumb. Highly recommended product.
