I was excited to see that this trigger and flash would work on my Leica cameras. Quick answer; The flash is brilliant in terms of simplicity and use. The X5L is another thing on my Leicas. It did not work on the M11P, the M9’s, nor the S 006 at all. What worked was my using an old Nikon cable to flash connection. This worked but only in manual mode. Still I am happy with this limitation, since I generally use manual for certain types of work. I ordered the X5N trigger and I no longer require the cable. To repeat, this combination is absolutely marvellous. I can now carry always the flash since the size and weight is so small. I will order another for my S 006 bag for the same reason. Godax must solve the Leica flash issue. It was the connector, pin arrangement that limited the TTL option.

Great little flash compatible with the Leica Q3

This flash has a lot going for it. Affordable, compact, rechargeable, ability to work off camera, and more importantly for me, it’s fully TTL compatible with the Q3. Also I would like to point out that the service from Stropepro was great. Shipment was super fast and the flash was well packed.

Impressed so far

I have only used it for a few occasions but I'm impressed. I use it in TTL mode on a Leica Q3. I like the results better at -0.3 and -0.7 settings. Simple and fun to use, light to carry and inexpensive. It's worth the money. I plan to buy an X5F Trigger Kit so I can use the flash with my Fuji. I was on the waitlist for a little while to get one.
