Godox V1F TTL Round Head Lithium Battery Speedlite for Fujifilm

Good concept, problems with execution by Godox

I own a couple of V860iiiN small flash, which are well made and work well. When I bought a Fujifilm GFX100s ii, adding a Godox V1F seemed to be a good idea (the round head makes it easy to distinguish from the Nikon units). Fujifilm makes two types of cameras, those using APS-C sized sensors and medium format sensors. Godox is aware of this and list compatibility for older models of both types of cameras; specifically the . For the V1F, the medium format GFX50S and GFX59R are mentioned in the manual. The automation only recognized 135 and APS sensors and the focal length for the lenses does not report correctly on the flash. From a construction standpoint, the battery binds when it is installed or removed, which does not happen with the V860iii. Godox firmware updates are opaque and I needed help from Strobepro staff (thanks Tracy) to do this.

Godox V1F flash

I just upgraded to the Godox V1F flash and have used it for one event so far. Having a lithium battery alone makes it worth the upgrade. I also like the light it produces, with or without modifiers. Of course having TTL and high-speed sync with my Fujifilm cameras was a must.
