Love these hats. I have the white and black and the velprotech enclosure is da bomb! Only recommendation is you guys need to make more Coaster Splash styles available in size small.

Lightweight, Water-Ready, and Travel-Proven

I picked up the Alter Ego Coaster Pro Splash White Iridescent hat because the design stood out, but I intentionally waited to review it until I had real time with it. This was the only hat I brought on a trip to Nevis, and it went through everything. Flights, daily wear, pool time, beach days, and even snorkeling. The standout features are the lightweight feel and breathability. It never felt heavy or hot, even in tropical conditions. The water-repellent tech works exactly as advertised. It handled splashes, sweat, and full submersion without staying soaked or losing shape. Fit held up well throughout the trip, including after repeated exposure to salt water and sun. No warping, no stiffness, no weird odor buildup. It dried quickly and stayed comfortable. Worth noting: a friend on the trip who normally wears Melin hats took notice and asked a lot of questions about it. That alone says something, especially given Melin’s reputation in this category. Overall, this is a well-designed, functional performance hat that looks good and performs better than expected in real-world use. I would absolutely recommend it, especially for travel, beach, and water-heavy environments.
