High quality and sturdy.

The range hood vent is high quality and sturdy However, the fan control mechanism is a bit cumbersome. Instead of a single button for on/off and fan speed control, there are three buttons and four lights. One button turns the fan on and off, while the other two buttons cycle through the four fan speeds. Interestingly, the default fan speed is always speed 2, regardless of which fan button you choose. To turn the fan off, you’ll need to press the On/Off button again. A one-button UI would have been much simpler. There’s also a light On/Off button that uses a bright red LED diode to indicate its On status. Why is this necessary? The lights are already on. And why is it bright red?

I am so happy that Proline offered two options for stainless steel. I checked my high end range for the steel the used. It was 304 so got the 304 stainless steel hood with the 2000 CFM. The steel matches perfect. I am surprised how much quiet it is compared to the 950CFM hood from another company. Will recommend for friends. They also changed the motors around so that I could rear duct.

Good product but some installation challenges

Good product. Simple but good quality and looks nice. Blower (single) was much bigger than I expected and not as quiet as I had hoped (but quiet enough to live with). Installation instructions were not the best. With help of professional installers, we figured out that 1) it was not possible to install blower motor last after finalizing ductwork [mounting screws are attached from rear] and 2) hanger partially obstructed rear blower vent [looked like hanger was for the two blower configuration, not a single one]. In the end, installers could not easily get to the vent from outside the house (highly elevated & cold out). So rear blower exiting ductwork is not yet attached to outside vent ductwork, Have to get a handyman to come do that. This replaced an old Thermador range hood of similar design (that was no longer supported) (and you wouldn’t know one from the other from a distance.
