Phenomal customer communication and responsiveness
I ordered the pneumatic cylinder collar removal kit from Office Oasis, and from start to finish they exceeded expectations. Firstly, I received the shipment the next business day -- even though I didn't pay for expedited shipping (from FL to MA). Next, I encountered several problems along the way with removing the cylinder and they answered my emails promptly with informative answers and extreme friendliness. I don't know how they are able to invest that much time in serving a customer with such a small purchase, but they did. My only regret is that I don't have a large purchase to make with Office Oasis: They deserve to thrive as a business based on their customer service alone.

Worked when nothing else did.
Incredible product. Have a 25-year old Herman Miller Aeron who's cylinder had never been changed. It finally gave up on me and when I attempted to pull it out, I quickly realized it was rusted in there really well. A 24-inch pipe wrench did absolutely nothing, no movement whatsoever and I was ready to pay a professional service to deal with it for $190. Randomly ran across this tool on Reddit.com, decided for $20 it was worth the gamble, and with-in 15-30 minutes, this tool got the cylinder unstuck and loose enough that I was then able to finish the job by simply twisting and pulling the cylinder out. It's the real deal, just make sure you have a good amount of the cylinder exposed so you can fit both collars and screws in otherwise you will struggle. If your chair is at the lowest setting this may be an issue.

Didn’t work for me
I could not get the piston out of my chair with this tool. Maybe it’s me, but I read the directions 3 times and followed the instructions ( although they didn’t seem like they would work). I left the inside clamp(A) loose, as directed, and the upper one tight. But when I used the expansion screws, the two collars separated from each other, but the piston didn’t move. I tried tightening the inside collar, but that didn’t work either. It would make more sense to me if the inside collar went over the collar of the seat plate that the piston fits into. But the directions didn’t say to do that. It wouldn’t have mattered because the collars were too small to go around the seat plate collar. Overall, it was a great idea, but didn’t work for me. As a last resort, a lot of WD40 and a pipe wrench did the trick.
