Wedding Anniversary Metal Portrait

I’m delighted by the outcome. It’s just an impressive piece, beautifully crafted. The wood frame I ordered with it is also beautifully done. It really works as an ensemble; frame protects the steel and gives it a unique 3D standoff. Of course, kudos to the artist who created the image. I actually sent my first design back - through no fault of their own; it was all on me. I didn’t think the piece resembled my wife but only because I chose a shot where she was wearing an expression that wasn’t translatable within this format - if your portrait wouldn’t look recognizable as a vectorized image (look it up!) it wouldn’t look right as a Story in Steel. Regardless, they helped me pick a new photo, even allowed me to send in multiple pic and they helped me choose which was best for the medium. Excellent service. Highly recommend as a unique and thoughtful gift

Before I even talk about the artwork, let me tell you about the service behind it. The intricacy of the background in my original photo was quite elaborate and I felt could be a challenge but was needed to “tell the story”. I questioned that Story In Steel could pull it off. When I got the first proof, the background was fabulously drawn in detail. I did request a few minor changes to the two human subjects of the photo to in my opinion better capture the personal characteristics of each person both in physical traits and emotional expression of the moment. My requests were not only performed beautifully but the team made me feel the requests were welcomed. Twice more I made requests for revisions where I expressed my misgivings for oversights of my own. The Story In Steel team never flinched or made me feel I was a bother. Their responsiveness by email and in product was phenomenal .Each artwork revision in the process was made within the promised 1-3 days. I was amazed. Once I approved the sketch work, the final product was fabricated and shipped, again, well within the promised time frame. I will say I did not receive updates as I thought the company suggested to be throughout the fabrication process until it shipped but it was fast enough I didn’t mind. I will add that throughout, I was feeling skeptical that the final steel artwork could be fabricated to the detail and likeness of the sketch I had approved. Upon receiving my artwork, actually faster than expected (I was away), I did open the box and looked inside and from what I could see (which was most of it as a label on the cellophane wrap was blocking a portion), the likeness to the approved sketch is exceptional. I do not plan to gift the artwork for another two months and to keep it protected, I’m hesitant to remove it from its packaging and wrapping until it is time to present the gift. Given all the experience above, I have great trust it will be fine, and if there does happen to be an issue, I have great faith in the Story In Steel team working with me to resolve. I do not believe I have ever before placed an on-line order and received such exceptional service and responsiveness as I have from the Story In Steel team.

I loved the artwork. Customer service was very accommodating and allowed me to add express delivery. The only thing that I wish I had was some insight as to the progress. I'd ordered late, so it was a late gift that I had next to no idea as to when it would arrive. When identified as shipping, tracking showed it waiting on label all weekend. Estimated to arrive Thur but showed early.
