Great Travel Set

I love this little set. Me and my son take it when we go get donuts on sunday mornings and it's very portable and doesn't take up much room on the table. Yes, the lack of extra queens is a little disappointing but we make do. Very high quality and well made.

perfectly sized

This travel set is perfectly sized. The pieces are not too small as to make it difficult to play with, and they are carved distinctly enough that you won't confuse the bishops for the pawns. The board came in perfect condition with none of the defects that have been described in some of the other reviews. Colours are warm and contrast is good on the eyes. I think it would also make a great first set for a novice. My only criticism is about the felt on the bases of the chessmen. Some of them were unevenly cut and there was dried glue on the felt. It doesn't bother me too much and it does not appear to impact on play. Shipping was super fast; it took only 4 days to reach me all the way in Singapore!
