Charismatic Knights!

Royal Chess Mall had a quick delivery to US with pieces arriving in perfect condition. All the slender pieces are straight without lean. Aesthetically, I find the style clean and elegant with expressive knights. I really struggled choosing between this set and Royal Chess Mall's Dubrovnik or Zagreb sets. The knights are perhaps just a touch large for a fall line from the king to rook. When looking at the photos online, I worried that the queen and bishop lack distinction, but viewed in person it isn't a problem. The queen has a noticeably larger presence. As noted in other reviews, the color of the light pieces is more golden than the toffee shade of other antiqued/distressed sets. I have two 57mm wooded boards, ebony/maple and rosewood/maple. Personally, I like the ebony/maple combo better. Overall, I am very pleased and will consider RCM for future purchases.
