I’ve purchased a set (except for the 1 micron) of these because I love the way they cut and wear. At the lower end they are not as harsh as an ATOMA plate. At the finer end, they polish well. As I’m sharpening I periodically look for small chips and areas that I’ve addressed poorly due to my imperfect technique. When I find them, I will insert one of these stones into my grit progression to clean up the problem. I’m going to use them exclusively to sharpen a friends badly abused 61-62 HRC Japanese Santoku in a week or so. I’ve said this before - if you are going to buy just one set of stones - these should be high on your list.
