Been using a TSPROF K03 since November, and wanted some good quality plates. Ive seen many, many, videos on sharpening products. But the PDTools series of various plates are just phenomenal. And I've purchased them all from Hapstone USA. Great service always on time with delivery, and too my surprise this time a plate holder very very nice. To be honest I spend way too much time on the Hapstone website maybe that's a good thing. Thanks for your kindness. I appreciate it. Mike

These CBN stone are amazing. I used the 60 grit to reprofile my super steels like s110v and it cut through it like better. My venev stone struggled to reprofile super steels. I highly recommend PBT stone because they come ready to use. You don't have to Flatten this stone to start using them like other stone.

I keep a data spreadsheet on every knife I sharpen. It’s the only way I know to identify issues and produce repeatable good outcomes. What’s emerged, is that some higher HRC ( greater than 60) steels are difficult to finish with ceramic stones. Likewise you will wear out synthetics, or you can damage the edges of some high vanadium steel knives if you try to use them to finish. Using resin coated diamonds or CBN’s seemed to be the logical choice. CBN stones, produce a finer finish than diamonds and are reputed to last longer than diamonds. I’ve used this stone as a finisher 3 times now and it has not disappointed. I use a small amount of Norton honing oil as a lubricant.
