Monkey Bar Attachment – For 79 Inch MODULAR Walnut Swedish Ladder

The monkey bars are essentially useless when installed directly on the Walnut panels because they interfere with the functionality of the panels, especially the Swedish ladder. This may be less of an issue with the tallest version, but with our configuration, it significantly limits how the system can be used. I ended up purchasing two additional panels so we could install the monkey bars on a different wall and make the overall setup more functional. Unfortunately, even then, the installation was nowhere near as modular or flexible as I expected. For example, the configuration required the ring side to be on the left, but we needed the rings on the right. There wasn’t an out-of-the-box way to reverse the configuration, so we ultimately had to drill additional holes to make it work safely. The biggest disappointment was discovering that both ends of the monkey bars have to be attached to panels. This was not clear to me when purchasing. Our original plan was to attach the monkey bars to the last Walnut panel and have them extend outward perpendicular to the Walnut wall, creating an L-shaped corner configuration rather than having the monkey bars run parallel to the panels. Once we discovered that the outer end also required panels for support, we had to purchase two additional panels just to make that configuration possible. That was frustrating, particularly because the system is presented as modular and gave me the impression that there would be much more flexibility in how the different components could be arranged. I really like the concept of the system and the individual components, but I think the configuration requirements and limitations of the monkey bars need to be communicated much more clearly before purchase. The modularity in practice is considerably more limited than I expected based on how the product is presented. I included a video of the configuration with the purchase of the additional panels to make the L shape we hoped to achieve in the beginning.
