well made and works well when used properly

I have used this tool on all sizes of flies and it works very well in releasing hooks especially barbless. With barbed hooks it requires a bit more practice keeping the line tense without breaking with one hand and pressing the tip against the bend of the hook and turning with the other. It is very well made and strong being made of stainless steel. I have used another brand that is plastic and have had it break.
