The joint tester I bought were definitely a good idea. Unfortunately neither one fit, the inside collar on both was too large.

It fits my schon perfectly. I will be ordering the carbon shaft now that I know how well it fits.

5/16" -14 Joint Testers
I ordered two 5/16"-14 joint testers for several reasons. First, as advertised, if I wanted to order a Rhino carbon shaft, I needed to verify the pin thread size and the best way to accomplish this would be to try the standard and oversized testers and determine which fit best on my cue. Additionally, I was concerned with the diameter of the tester. Would the diameter of the tester mate up with the diameter of my pool cue collar? And finally, could I modify the tester by adding a UniLoc pin on the opposite side, so that the tester became a 5/16"-14 to UniLoc adaptor? All three issues were resolved using the tester. The standard size tester fit my cue best. The screw size was perfect and the tester diameter was an exact fit with my cue collar. By installing a UniLoc pin on the opposite end, I created an adaptor that enables me to use either 5/16"-14 or UniLoc shaft. Great product to check the size of your 5/16"-14 pin OR if you are handy, to create a shaft adaptor.
