I was skeptical of how small the magnet is but it does the job splendidly. I recently broke my rod and left my magnet on the rod. I went online and explained the situation and they sent me a new magnet.

Carabiner issue

Love the product but the little carabiner has a poor closure that can pop open when on the water. It should have a spring or lock to prevent losing the magnet with the carabiner.

Magnet too light

Magnet is a little light. Rod drops off often. Should have went with the larger one for my 6 wt setup.
