My favourite clay

I love this clay, it handles me messing with it during hand building and the speckles are lovely. I’ve found I can get more speckles in the finished piece by sanding it after bisque firing. The glaze in the picture is two thick coats of toasted sage (first layer) and two regular coats of textured turquoise (top layer).

My favourite clay

I’ve been using this clay for a while to hand build plates and love the finished results when glazed. Embossing detail seems easier than carving. Yes, the spots come off onto my bat washed kiln shelves, but I’m living with it for now (it’s the only clay I’m currently using) as I found cookies can make some larger pieces warp.

Speedy delivery, love this clay although I do get a good bit of exfoliation on the wheel 🤣 it's great to leave some showing when glazing too.
