X-Arcade Tankstick MAX

Just upgraded from my 20 year old X-Arcade, which has never let me down. Wanted all the new features, trackball and spinners and 4 player with my old stick. Great piece of kit, at a great price...here's to many more years of happy gaming.

A retro-gamers dream!

Everything worked immediately out of the box. The spinners and track-balls are awesome-especially with Atari 50th Anniversary celebration. It's durable and replacement parts can be easily obtained. I will soon start looking at adapters for my consoles. Well done!

Needs improvement.

I bought this TankStick MAX for a complete arcade experience. I use it with Teknoparrot and Mame. Very impressive for the games that I play with it using those spinners and the trackball. The joystick however, not so much. I will be upgrading to something that is more responsive. They are horribly unresponsive in both Mame and Teknoparrot and that is being nice. My Arcade 1UP machines are actually better and that is sad. X-Arcade needs to do better. When I push a direction, I should go in that direction and not pause. 4 or 8 way is not the issue as I have switched out to both based on the on the game. Yes I went through the trouble and it didn't fix what was broken. The first hint was the click and pop with a lifting up of the joystick feeling in whichever direction I push it in and then it freezes. It's just horrible quality. Looking into spending yet more money to swap out the horrible joysticks that came with the TankStick MAX and replace hem with ones that actually work. That being said, the money I spent on the TankStick MAX for the spinners and trackball, think Golden Tee Golf, Centipede, and Tempest, was less than building my own. I will be replacing the joysticks for quality pieces that are responsive. The ones that came with it make retro gaming a nightmare for the games that require a joystick instead of a trackball or spinner.
