Demo Horn Classic G Series

Finally found the right mouthpiece! I picked up a clearance Eastman EFH682 horn for a great price. It was advertised as coming with a Laskey 75G, but being that it was clearance it actually came with a no-name mouthpiece. I had picked up a different mouthpiece at the music store and for the 5 months I played on that, I really struggled to hit lower register notes. In a desperate attempt, I switched to the no-name mouthpiece for a month. Suddenly had incredible access to the missing lower range, but notes were inaccurate, and some pitches “growled” instead of slotting into place. After reading a few horn blogs and learning more about how mouthpieces work in general, I decided to purchase the Laskey 75G that my horn should have come with. Wow! What a difference it made right away! I now have access to a very nice range of notes, and my accuracy has greatly improved, especially on specific notes. This mouthpiece feels like a French Horn cheat code that I wish I had known all along!

Got this as an upgrade from my original Holton MDC. Noticeably more comfortable, sounds better, centers notes better, all-around big win! And it looks great too. No issues with the demo model. I am very happy and satisfied.

Very happy with my new 80G. Being able to choose the right mix of rim size and cup style really allowed me to find just the right fit.
