"The 432Sessions" CD

Overall, I quite like this cd. The thing that I think I appreciate the most, is that the banjo and fiddle do not overpower the rest of the music. Too often, in Bluegrass/Oldtime music, I find that the banjo and fiddle are overpowering, and that usually you cannot hear the guitar or bass. And-there is some really fine, satisfying guitar picking on this CD! As a guitarist, I am thankful for that! So please-more of that in the future! There are some very good vocals on the Cd, but I appreciate that the vocals also did not overpower the rest of the music. Personally, I feel that the best tunes on the CD are the "Dawg Music" style songs (Old Gray Coat & Gasology). These songs REALLY showcase the abilities of these fine pickers. Man-these guys can PLAY! In fact, I am putting in a request for a whole CD of these types of songs from this group. There is something refreshing and original about this CD. The production vales VERY good, and there is what I would call a "less is more" overall quality to the sound engineering, and therefore you can really here the acoustic nuances of the instruments. If you are a true fan of Old-Time and Bluegrass, and a little "New-Grass", then I think you'll truly enjoy this CD.
