still new but had a squirrel in it exploring within about 4 days of mounting it. -Certainly helped that I had mounted it where another house had been. I have about 9 houses that my husband has made but wanted to order one to give him a break. Love the construction and will look forward to seeing it used this winter. I am guessing they will still chew the corners like they do on all my wooden houses. I think you should consider making a "feeding box". The box would have circular side holes to enter, open on the front and a sloped roof with a possible edge on the front so if sunflower is sprinkled on the roof to accommodate another squirrel on top that would be great. I will send a photo to you of my regularly used feeding station which has fallen is disrepair but used for many years.

I am a perfectionist and I have to say I am so impressed with how perfectly this box is put together. Beautiful and solid. I love it.

This is all I asked for for Christmas...and I love it! Came after just a few days of ordering it, packaged well. We put it up today, it looks great...Hope we have visitors soon! Fairly easy to hang, great quality...even the hardware was top notch. The instructions were easy to follow. Love that the front opens..we were able to add a little straw and some pieces of fleece.
