As others have stated, this is not a hat for people with big heads. If your head is over a size 7 with fitted caps I would caution against this one. I took a chance and the fit isn't bad. However it doesn't repel water, at all. It just sucks it up like any other cotton hat, maybe even more so. When it dried out after the first rainfall it left a permanent stain (like a sweat stain) where the brim meets the hat. Since others don't seem to have this problem, I'm guessing whatever waterproofing Halley Stevenson wax provides was not applied properly to the hat. I didn't think to test the waterproofing out when I first received the hat and by the time I was in my first rainfall I was already outside the return window. so just FYI, test the hat out when you first get it. if the waterproofing worked as advertised I would have given it 5 stars as it looks great and we need more 100% natural material companies.
