We have dual HVAC systems in our house. We ordered the Ecobee Premium Smart edition last fall. After installation, we compared the new Ecobee to its 15 year old predecessor (still controlling half the house as of last winter). The efficiency of the Ecobee made the 15 year old comparator seem archaic; it provided a much more controlled, tightly-regulated thermal operation, which translates into dollars saved. We replaced the other side this summer and noted how the A/C (now both HVAC systems under smart control) has vastly improved with run-time and programming superiority. As an analogy, it was like switching from an incandescent bulb to LED. Pretty sweet and an instant improvement! It has also modernized the hallway (aesthetically) with its handsome digital display and perimeter light glowing when ON. You should break even quick with this upgrade!
