One lens solution for portraits and events
Great all around lens that can be very useful especially for wedding and other events. It covers most of the range for portraits, and when mounted on Lumix S5 ii, the balance was great even though the lens is little heavy. Focusing speed was great, better than I expected and there was a rare occasion that I actually missed the focus, but it was more of a problem with the camera. Overall great budget option to cover the long range and a great solution for portraits.

The 35-150 is a remarkable lens. Covers so many focal lengths and with a reasonably fast aperture (2.0-2.8). Images are fairly sharp though there's noticeable falloff at the corners. I don't mind it. Autofocus is quick but does hunt at times. I've found using tracking on my SL2-S makes a positive difference with AF. Downsides are that it is big and can be heavy. There is the dreaded lens creep where if you let it hang on your should or aim down, the lens will not stay set on the zoom. It will creep out. Thankfully there's the lock button at 35mm that I use fairly often especially if I'm walking around with the lens. There's a lot of glass at work so that's probably understandable. Overall build is nice and the plastic exterior feels finished and refined. The interior is made of a metal alloy so I feel assured. I would give this 5 stars if not for the autofocus and the lens creep. But again, the lens can deliver some sharp images, covers a lot of range and focuses fairly fast. If you're needing just one lens to use most of the time, the Rokinon 35-150 seems to fit the bill.
