Review still pending due to destruction of probe after one cook

I cooked a ribeye steak that turned out fine, but the probe somehow was dumped down the drain and destroyed by the dispose all and it’s been cold and rainy since. So need to pair my new probe which had to buy. By the way you can’t just buy the probe. You need to buy the probe and charging base. So take good care of your probe/s as each one you break will cost $$$ to replace. More on this probe and the system once the weather gets better. Wish I had taken a photo of the mangled probe. The bottom part will take a beating, but the top part or rather the point at which the top and bottom are joined together appears to be the probes weakest point. I have seen a few photos of probes that people did not insert far enough or that the meat that was cooking pulled away from. The union joint is appears to be susceptible to heat damage, so check your probe as your cook progresses. Or insert it with a bit to spare and adjust until it provides best signal. Happy grilling, and I will catch you all later when I have a chance to use my replacement probe.

Aside from being incredibly accurate, I had a cook cook sideways and caught fire in the smoker. Temp soared to around 700°. Honestly, wasn't a complete disaster. But what was impressive is the probe, which had turned black, cleaned up nicely and hasn't skipped a beat since. Solid piece of equipment.

Excellent wireless probe

I have used the wired probe and instaprobe for years. The probe works very well. It is a neat probe… meaning that you have to inserted it most of the way. If technically possible, I would need a shorter probe for chicken Thx.
